Each release goes through three stages: Active Development, Supported Development, and Unsupported. When a release is no longer supported it is considered End of Life. Users running unsupported version should consider upgrading as soon as possible.

Active Development

Active Development is a state in which bugs and security releases are made. A release is considered in Active Development if there is no official release with a greater major.minor version number.

Supported Development

Supported Development is a state in which only critical security releases are made. A release is considered in Supported Development for one year from the original release date of its major.minor version.

Unsupported

Unsupported is a state in which no releases are made. A release is considered unsupported if it is no longer in Active or Supported Development.
